Mankind has always been in a race to practice his / her power through money and power over autonomy. But nature has always proved humankind is always inferior to its power.

During natural emergencies such as cyclone, flood and earthquake, we feel the importance of people & our society around us, an action for our voice of help is all our need during these hard times!

One of the worst experiences, that Chennai has recently doomed into was Cyclone Michaung, which left the entire part of the Chennai cities with no water, no electricity, no network, no internet and no human connectivity and blocking all the paths of assistance to the poorly affected people.

 

 

Cyclone Michaung vs Chennai!

Chennai, one of the hotspots of rain in Tamil Nadu is also home to monsoon rains with wealthy rainfall, and rainwater annually. But Cyclone Michaung gave more than what we needed and left us speechless on its non-stop rain for entire two days. Which literally filled the cities with rainwater, and no water is easily drainable till today. All our houses or at least our area was left covered with knee level water, making us use boats to move from one place to another like an island.

It was reported that at least 18 individuals have lost their lives in Tamil Nadu, Chennai, due to Cyclone Michaung’s heavy rainfall. This intense rain has evoked memories of the devastating floods which covered in 2015.

#Flood Heroes in #Flood Relief Program

As we all know our internet is still 4G and there is no 5G supported in some parts of Chennai still, due to Cyclone Michaung, one of the worst affected rainfalls for the past 5 years

But our Pephands Foundation, amid this badly impacted flood, found a way to help the needy !

We piled our team members through damaged network and formed an instant #Pephands flood relief program to help the people affected by Michaung cyclone to support them with emergency kits such as Food, Drinking water, Candles, Matchbox, Mosquitoe Kits & others.

At the start of the Pephands Flood Relief Program, it was very hard for us to cross the water from one place to another, but with our team volunteer ship and dedication as the call, we reached the affected people to their places and supported with our strong hands with hope and care.

Our Pephands Flood Relief Program was started on December 6, 2023

Our Pephands Flood Heroes first visited the worst affected hotspot of Chennai, Velachery assisting 70+ people stucked in the middle of water due to Cyclone Michaung.

On December 7, 2023, our Pephands Flood Relief program volunteers visited Perumbakkam especially 120 differently abled people & visited Semmencheri Housing Board area and distributed the survival kits with Food & Water Bottle counting to 200+ people totally.

On December 8, 2023, our Flood Heroes volunteered the food distribution services for 500 people, transported from Madipakkam to Perumbakkam town, from the efforts of Mr. Nirmal, Social activist and we thank the adverse support of Seyal Foundation & No Food Waste Organization for making the needful impact.

And on December 9, we distributed 800+ food packs with the ventured efforts of Terminate Hunger Welfare Organization (500 Packs) & Pephands Foundation at  Perumbakkam Location.

 

Over time We delivered food packs to over 2000+ People

Still, we are reaching the poorly affected parts of Chennai of Cyclone Michaung and this Pephands flood relief program will continue for the needy, as we believe humanity is the best call for action during the time of emergency and help.
